1.1 The New World
Opening cutscene uses comic drawings to quickly re-run the story of the Strangers and the Navigator for new players' benefit.
In the Year 2000, humanity discovered that it was not alone.
Paradise City, beset by crime became the focal point for devils, alien robot and members of bizarre secret races who had been sharing our Earth unseen for centuries.
Together, these outsiders battled to free the city from its seige by 'art criminals', only to discover that they had been gathered together for a far more sinister purpose.
The Connection, an entity formed from the minds of four powerful mutants scattered throughout space and time, had been guiding them to create a doorway between world through which it could physically join.
The creature was defeated in the hidden Antartican city of New Victoria, leaving humanity in no doubt that it was alone anymore.

The opening cutscene takes place in a run-down school. A sexy bitchy schoolteacher is addressing a 'special' class comprised of human children with disabilities - one boy wears glasses, a girl in a wheelchair, and so on.
Voiceover: (meant to read like a logic puzzle)
The boy with defective eyesight is sitting to the left of the girl who can't walk properly.
The child whose parents can't afford orgone implants to correct her hearing is sitting to the right of the myopic child who can't see the blackboard clearly.

Teacher:And that, children, is why none of you will ever amount to anything.
Now hurry on out of here, (those of you that can), Ive got an important date tonight with my new boyfriend. He's Atlantean you know.
Big glistening muscles, an expensive car, things you lot only dream about.
The kids leave. The boy with glasses (Bateman) is thinking to himself:
The bully's coming. I can hear him. I have to stop the bully...
Into Mission 1 proper now. Starts over a cityscape at night, with a voiceover narrating...
Voiceover:This isn't the world of your fathers, grandad!
This is a brave new world, inhabited by mutant kids with wild staring eyes.
Its gonna be blood on the streets, fire in the sky and all the wild things are coming out to play.
Oh boy! Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Marla, you're the best! Peace Log 19-03-07 out!
By now the cameras panned down to Peace Frog on a rooftop - he was hamming it up into a dictaphone and taking a lunch break before fighting crime.
OBJECTIVE: Patrol the streets looking for crime
After a couple of generic thug with bat/gun fights and interrogations, interspersed with some handy hints on how to use Peace Frog, you get a tipoff to investigate a particular area for a drop-off of some special weaponry.
Investigating this area leads to a cutscene where he spots a young blue woman also investigating, introducing Selkie. She's picked up some object to throw at the guys by the truck, and it shatters in her hands. Bad luck, eh?
Peace Frog: Those guys by the truck look like there up to no good... hey, it >ulp<... a girl! (panic beads on head)
Selkie has lifted a nearby mailbox to lob at the guys, when she trips on the pavement.
Selkie: Alright, wise guy! I suppose you think its funny sneaking up on me with my condition!
Thug: Hey! Whos that? Get her!
Selkie effortlessly dispatches the guys with big knockback punches, and flies up to the rooftop where the Frog is watching.
Selkie: Like to sneak up on disabled people, huh? Watch it, my other senses are sharpened to compensate! I've ought to...
Swipe - dodge (she cant of course actually hit Peace Frog)
Peace Frog: Oh yeah? Think you can use those senses to help me track down some illegal weaponry?
Selkie: Whats in it for me?
Blah blah, you then control the two of them with an objective to find a bunch of weapons crates and beat up a few more thugs, maybe some armed with the special gear. You know, intro mission stuff....
Selkie and Peace Frog are now recruited as the first two members of your team.
