Installing and Running Freedom Force X 3.1
You'll need to have Irrational Games' Freedom Force vs the Third Reich installed first, followed by FFX 3.0.
Step 1: Download
Click on this link Freedom Force X 3.1 Update and choose Save Target, and choose a suitable location on your hard drive.
Step 2: Back up (optional)
Back up your ffxcustom.py file if you have lots of character customisations already and don't want to lose them.
Step 3: Install
Find the installer using Explorer and run it. The only setting you may want to change is the installation directory - choose the directory which you installed Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich to. The installer will try to read this information from your registry.
Step 4: Merge
Replace your ffxcustom.py over the top of the one that the bug fix patch installed.
Run the FFX Control Centre and press Save.
New attributes in FFX 3.1
- DRIVER and VEHICLE: Drivers automatically start missions in their chosen vehicle (which is a character designed with the VEHICLE attribute), and can enter and exit the vehicle at will using a custom command
- SPELLCASTER: spells are memorised from chaining commands together, e.g. INCREASE... GRAVITY... AROUND TARGET to memorise a spell that effects a gravity increase around others. Up to three spells can be memorised, but casting has a chance of causing you to forget that spell.
- TERRAFORMER: objects around you change all the time. Example character BORG-9 turns nearby streetlights and trees into techno-organic stacks which he can feed off.
- ABSORPTION (ACTIVE): Just like the ABSORPTION ability but more powerfuil effects, and you need to activate each absorption with a command.
- ADAPTIVE (ACTIVE): Toggle your resistances whenever you feel like it.
- INDUCTION: Taking damage can cause you to magnetise characters nearby
- UTILITY BELT: Choose 3 out of 6 handy gadgets at each mission start
- TRANSMUTATOR: Effect various elemental transmutations on nearby objects
Step 5:Get the extras

Unzip this file into your custom content directory to get ther following characters:
- Cat Laser:- a WW II hero, the original CatLaser was just a big friendly neighbourhood butcher who decided to pitch in for his country by dressing up as a cat and punching Nazis out. Cat Laser demonstrates the VEHICLE and DRIVER attribute with the aid of his Cat Jalopy - a car customised with a couple of weapons. (Sorry, no skin provided).
- Borg-9:- an alien colony of microorganisms that find our world to be toxic. As a result, the Borg-9 has developed terraforming microbe squads that attempt to make our world like the Borg using the TERRAFORMER attribute. He can feed off these techno-organic stacks to replenish his failing health using the ABSORPTION (ACTIVE) attribute - this draws health from the techno-organic stacks nearby.
