The final loading screen for Amazium 235. I'm still not satisfied with it completely, but it captures the feeling of wierd science well enough, like Steve Ditko's floting eyeball realms but with a chemistry/physics twist. The background is meant to resemble a higher-dimensional periodic table.
If I could have channelled anyone here, it would have been the old SF artist Virgil Finlay, with his meticulous stippling that lends a strange sense of light and weightlessness to all his images.
The original screen. I'm not sure why I ditched this one and redrew it. The perspective on the periodic table wasn't all there. The images of the other elements that you fight in game weren't quite right. I dont know. I think part of it was just the desire to not settle for the first thing I drew and chuck it in but to try again. The second attempt above turned out a bit better in the end.
